Introduction

Our Privacy Policy is in line with the new data protection laws effective from the 25th May 2018.


Information we collect

Browsing our web site

By simply browsing our site, we do not collect any personally-identifiable information about you. Our site does not contain any Cookies.


Emails

If you Email us you will share certain information. This will include your email address and could include your name, your child’s name, date of birth and any other details you tell us within the message. Only key members of staff can read these messages and we will only use the details you provide to enable us to fulfil your request. Once dealt with the Email is deleted.


We will use the Email address that you provide on your child’s registration form to advise you of information concerning the dance school.

This could be class alterations, annual show details etc, so it is essential that any changes to your Email address are notified to us.


Registering your child

If you register your child for our classes, we will collect personal information about you and your child. This will include your name, address, Email address, telephone number as well as your child’s name, date of birth and gender. You may also tell us if they have any needs or conditions we should be aware of, for example allergies, disabilities or medication they may need whilst dancing.

We store this information securely within the school and only key members have access to it. Certain relevant details will be shared with our dance teachers to allow them to provide relevant and inclusive classes.


Annual Show

We hope that all our pupils’ take part in the annual show as it provides an opportunity to perform on a professional stage.

To take part we require your child’s size measurements for the costumes. This information is held by the school until after the final night of the show, and then securely destroyed.


Photography/Video Recordings

There may be times when a teacher will take photographs or a video during a class. This will be for the continuity of teaching and to uphold standards. Examples of this would be annual show dances, or to aid a child in their dance technique.

After use the images are correctly destroyed.


Leaving the school

When a pupil leaves the school and we have been informed, any records held are securely destroyed.



Information others collect


RAD, IDTA and ISTD

These are the three examining bodies that our school use. If you enter your child for exams we will disclose certain details about your child. These include their name, age, gender and ethnicity. If your child needs additional support during their exam, for example they have a disability, the additional support needed will be disclosed. We do not disclose any of your child’s details to any examination body unless you enter them for an exam.


References

We will provide references for student’s wanting to follow a dance career through a Dance College. To do so we require a formal request from the parent/student.


Disclosing your details to others

Your personal details are your property. Apart from the instances listed above, we do not disclose your details to anyone.
