Terms & Conditions

We are a long established dance school which follows the RAD, ISTD & IDTA genres and encourages the love of dance, friendship, loyalty and discipline. We hope through dance and our school we will give your child the confidence to see them through life’s challenges, whether they take up a dance orientated career or not.


When you join The Joyce Butler School of Dance we expect you to be aware of, and have accepted our Terms and Conditions listed below:-


PAYMENT OF FEES


  • There are 3 ways to pay fees, which are Cash, Cheque or Bank Transfer. 
  • Cash & Cheque to be paid at the secretary's desk on a Thursday or Saturday from week 1 to week 3 of each 1/2 term.
  • Bank Transfer details are found on your fees Invoice.
  • All fees must be paid by the 3rd week of each 1/2 term. If not an admin charge of £6.00 will be added on your payment.
  • Cheques to be made payable to J.B.Dance Association with your child's name on the back.
  • Cheques returned unpaid will incur a £7.50 handling charge.
  • Refunds will only be given if we have to cancel any classes.
  • Fees are not waived in respect of family holidays, school trips, school exams or short term sickness, which is up to 4 weeks absence.
  • Long term sickness, (after 4 weeks) 1/2 fees must be paid to retain a place in the school.


RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENT OR GUARDIAN


  • It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to ensure we have the correct details of your child and we are updated of any personal changes or health conditions.
  • It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to regularly read the school notice board at the hall to ensure they are fully aware of school dates and forthcoming events.
  • It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to also read our email communications.
  • Parents & Guardians are responsible of their child/children when they are outside their dance class. We are only responsible for the student when they are at their dance lessons.
  • Joyce Butler School of Dance hires the hall and premises from a third party therefore all must abide by the Code of Conduct as set out by those third parties.


GENERAL MATTERS


  • The Joyce Butler School of Dance does not accept liability for any loss or damage to personal property left in the hall.
  • The hall has easy access to outside and it is advisable that valuables or money is not left in the changing room. This includes mobile phones.
  • Valuables and phones may be taken into the hall and left on the windowsill or secretary's desk.
  • Phones must be switched off. 
  • Photos are not to be taken in class or dressing room unless given permission by the teacher in the class.
  • Unless previously advised by the parent we will assume photos taken at the school for the school can be used on our website.
  • Male adults and young male teenagers are not allowed in the changing room
  • Joyce Butler School of Dance correct dance uniform must alway be worn in class including correct dance shoes.
  • Hair must be tied back and worn off the face in a bun.
  • Jewellery or any nature must not be worn, this includes friendship bands and watches.
